Club Phoenix Teen Center

The Teen Center, known as Club Phoenix, provides a structured and safe environment for teens to grow socially, receive academic support, and participate in physical and recreational activities. In operation since 1999, the Teen Center provides after-school programs to students in grades 6-8; services include homework help and seasonal events. In addition, teens can join clubs that fit their interests and earn service hours for school requirements.

Club Phoenix Presents:

Parent Discussion : It’s Not That Bad, Right? Vaping and Juuling
Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 7:00pm

Facilitators will be fielding the questions plaguing our community: Where and how is it purchased? What does it do? What does it look like? What does it smell like (you’ll be surprised by this answer)? What is the school’s disciplinary action?
Administrators from Thoreau Middle School will be present to answer concerns regarding our middle school students.

Presenter: Brian Maslowski, Office of Student Safety and Wellness, FCPS

Parent Discussion : Be Their First Ally
Wednesday, October 17, 2018, 7:00pm

Parents learning that your child or someone you care about is LGBTQ can open a range of emotions, from confused to concerned, awkward to honored. It may be hard to know how to react, leaving you with questions. Facilitators from the Fairfax—PFLAG organization will lead the discussion in our safe space where you can share your feelings and learn how to speak with your teen.
